Lisa “Lou” Rolland is a French-Bulgarian artist based in California. Rooted in the French countryside and shaped by time spent in Bulgarian towns and monasteries, her work follows raw human craftsmanship - using only materials from the earth and preserving inherited traditional craft practices. Her exploration ranges from Bulgarian textiles and ceramics to French wooden carvings and painting techniques. Her work continues the craft practices of her ancestors, from both ends of Europe, sustaining the traditions and cultures carried within them.
